Who manages international (country-specific) domain names?

International, or country-specific domain names, such as yourdomain.co.uk, yourdomain.de, etc., are managed by the applicable country's NIC (Network Information Center). Please contact your country's NIC for details of the registration process.

Can FastVirtual host international domain names?

FastVirtual can host most international domain names, subject to each country's restrictions. There are a few exceptions, so please contact your NIC (Network Information Center) to ensure you are eligible to register your chosen domain name, and that this can be hosted by a provider outside of your own country.

Can FastVirtual register international domain names?

No. Many countries have specific requirements and procedures, so customers need to contact their applicable NIC (Network Information Center) directly to register their chosen domain.

How do I contact my country's NIC (Network Information Center)?

Each country has a NIC (Network Information Center) that is responsible for that country's TLDs (Top Level Domains). To register country-specific domain names, you need to contact your country's NIC. A list of the various NICs around the world is available here: Locate your country's NIC

How do I register a new international domain name, then host it with FastVirtual?

To register a new country-specific domain name and host this with FastVirtual simply follow these steps:

  1. Contact your country's NIC (Network Information Center) to ensure you are eligible to register your chosen domain name, and confirm that this can be hosted outside of your country.
  2. Create your FastVirtual account. Log in to your control panel and add your chosen hosting plan, specifying your international domain name.
  3. Contact your nation's NIC to register the domain name, and provide details of our name servers.

If you already own the domain name, simply ask your country's NIC to update your DNS entry to point to our name servers.
